Dale also manages Dr. Jody’s charitable program and spends a lot of her spare time volunteering and finding ways to give back to the community. On the weekends you can find her at the hockey rink watching her kids skate, and her husband coach!

  1. What is your favourite part of heading up Dr. Jody’s events?

I love all the planning and brainstorming that goes into events. I love organizing and problem solving. I thrive under pressure, and I love the week leading up to it! The energy of the audience is my favourite thing ever.

  1. Which event is the most memorable to you and why?

International Women’s Day on March 8, 2019 was quite amazing. It was literally days before the pandemic shut the world down. There were 500 of us gathered and I’m so glad we had that day before COVID changed everything.

  1. How did you and Jody meet?

We met at CrossFit!! We both just had babies and we were just three months postpartum back at the gym. She was hilarious and I loved her right away.

  1. Most challenging part of your job?

I would say pivoting during COVID was definitely a challenge. We had so many people to serve through our events and a lot of details to work with respect to joining the virtual event world! I learned a lot about hosting people virtually.

  1. What are you most excited about right now? (professionally or personally)

Professionally, we have some very exciting things coming – I can’t say too much but it’s a new program for our own community that I get to head up! And personally…my family and I just booked a trip to Disney and we are very, very excited for that.

  1. What is your favourite pastime?

Golfing, hanging with my sons, home décor and baking!

  1. What’s your advice for 18-year-old you?

Don’t take yourself too seriously.

  1. What do you do to keep yourself grounded and connected?

Every year my best friends and I do a trip together and it’s very special, very grounding and brings out the absolute best in all of us. I also like to volunteer and dedicate a lot of time to serving the community and volunteering for a variety of organizations in Olds.

  1. Funniest story about Jody?

When we were out in Halifax on a big trip, a group of us were waiting for Jody and Marti to come pick us up.  We weren’t sure what to expect and then Jody pulled up in a giant motorhome, dressed to the nines in heels and all, honking the horn and yelling, “Get in!”
